John began his real estate career in 2006, after relocating from Chicago with his family to the Stapleton neighborhood in Denver. In 2010, after a few years as a Broker Associate, John started his own real estate company. Having success in a corporate setting and as an independent agent, John was eventually drawn to Perry & Co. by their reputation as Denver’s premier boutique real estate company and as only one of two companies in Denver affiliated with the internationally-renowned Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.
Prior to becoming a real estate professional John was in law enforcement for over a decade, including two years with the United Nations Mission In Kosovo. He is also a Marine Corps veteran of Operation Desert Storm, and is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1. Helping people has always been a passion for John. As a police officer he often put the interests and well-being of others before his own. The fiduciary responsibilities of an agent require the same level of commitment. Regardless of whether on a purchase or a sale, John represents his clients to the fullest.
"We were moving from out of state, which was challenging. We made two trips to the area and John spent two days each trip taking us around to many, many homes. We has very patient, courteous, and answered all of our questions. He assisted us throughout the whole process!"

"I used John to buy my first home and then sell it during my recent work relocation. It was hard to do things remotely to get my home sold, but John was there every step of the way. He was able to help me get things situated without me actually being there. Thanks John for making the home sell as seamless as possible!"

"John Keene was my buying agent. He listened to my needs and to my comments as we walked through properties. He was able to sum up each property and also told me things I needed to know before choosing a property to bid on. He also had my back during the bidding, counter bidding procedures, and all the way through the buying process. If I had a question, he had an answer to me within an hour. He also gave me recommendations for contractors for the work I wanted to do. Even after the closing, John has kept in touch to see how the move went, and if I was happy with the contractors he recommended."

"John was such a great help in selling our home. We felt extremely fortunate to have John Keene as our agent. He went above and beyond to ensure we understood the process and we felt that he always had our best interest in mind. John is very knowledgeable about the home market in our area and has established resourceful contacts that helped along the way when we had questions or needed to get things fixed before selling. We would recommend John to everyone, actually we had numerous friends selling their homes the same time as we were and we felt sad for all our friends that didn't have John as their Realtor. We purchased a home in another state, and the process was not smooth, we constantly wished John was there to assist. It added to our realization of how great John really was."

“John’s background as former military and former police officer translates into one thing in real estate - John gets things done. John also loves a good laugh but he’s serious at meeting the needs of his clients. He starts by listening and then he takes all the information he has gathered and searches all angles in order to find the perfect solution for his client’s real estate needs. John is an out-of-the-box thinker and he is not afraid to get creative in order to provide the best client experience possible.”

"Thank you John. Even though we were just purchasing a small apartment you treated us as though we were buying a million dollar home. You were professional, friendly, patient and made it so that I didn't have to worry about anything. Since we are a retired military family we have met a lot of realtors and bought a number of homes. You are my absolute favorite realtor. Thank you for your stellar character, your kind manner, your attention to detail and your service to our country both as a law enforcement officer and a marine. I love meeting someone like you. Thank you for guiding me at a time when life is particularly hectic and I need a lot of guidance. God bless you."

"John was great to work with for many reasons. When we shared with him what we wanted and didn't want in a home, he listened and didn't try to sway us from that; he was always available and accommodating when we wanted to see a house, making every effort to match his schedule to ours; and he was there with us through every step of the process, ready to offer his professional advice when asked for it.
"What I liked most about John was his down-to-earth, friendly personality. He's just a good person who truly wants to help find the home that's right for you. I highly recommend him."

"Scott and I want to thank you for all your help and support in the sale of my Dad’s home. You were a big help in getting us the resources we needed to handle the estate sale, clean out the house, paint, clean the carpets, and make the necessary repairs to get the home ready for sale. We also appreciated your active involvement with the HOA to get the roof matter handled quickly.
"You did an excellent job in representing us on the sale, negotiating on our behalf with the buyer’s agent, and providing options to help the sale go through with the appraisal value challenges. All this was done long distance, which we know wasn’t easy.
"Please send out best wishes to the new homeowner!
"With gratitude & appreciation."
