Denver is a city of urban neighborhoods and the Greater Denver area, which makes up the rest of Denver County, continues to thrive with restoration, remodeling and re-building. New urban communities like Lowry and Stapleton have risen from Denver's former airport and the redeveloped Lowry Air Force base. Older neighborhoods such as Highlands and Sunnyside are seeing a re-birth with restored Victorians and bungalows along with new construction of lofts and townhomes. Neighborhoods surrounding the new light rail stations along the nearly complete I-25 corridor expansion are thriving with remodeled homes as well as new construction.
